My boyfriend's sister holds the dubious honour of being the fussiest eater in the world. No fruit, no veg, no practically-meat-substitutes-veg (I mean, c'mon, who can possibly have a problem with onions, except people planning to pucker up?), no mustard, no cheese, no pepper, no chilli, no beer, no wine, no jam, no juice... no flavour and no fun. I think you get the idea.

When boyf & I were living in Oz and she came to visit from France, both he and she were shocked that vegos and vegans were the norm in Sydney, and that being a carnivore would seriously raise some eyebrows (only eating chocolate and meat seems to be accepted in France, heaven forbid!)

Anyway, she was over for dinner the other night in Paris. I was having a "what to cook" dilemma, and then I solved it with a good old aussie steak and potato pie - you know the ones with the potato sliced finely and arranged on the top like it was a French apple tart? I had to hold back from adding any pepper or onions (ie. the taste) but thanked my lucky stars that she acutally ate potatoes. Anyway, it was a success! Phew! (I can pass on the recipe if you want...)

Enjoy your holiday home - don't forget to eat a burger with beetroot...
